History
Thapae Boxing Stadium is located on Muen Mueang Road, west of Thapae Gate, in Phra Singh sub-district, Muang Chiang Mai district, Chiang Mai province. The atmosphere is quite lively and caters to tourists, with live music (Pee Phat Band) and fun shows like blindfold boxing during breaks between rounds. The real match uses elbows, knees, kicks, and punches in a full Muay Thai style, with actual knockouts. While some fights may be exhibitions, overall, the "real fights" atmosphere is more thrilling than "underground Chinese fights." The audience is close to the ring, with cheering and a little betting.
